Robert A. Merring has served the Southern California legal community as an ADR professional for over twenty-five years. Having practiced principally as a business litigator for forty years, Bob has had a wide-range of experiences ranging from antitrust to year-end audits and has particular expertise in the areas of business and commercial, health law, intellectual property and real property matters.
Bob serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association on its Commercial and Large Complex Case Panels and for the American Health Lawyers Association. Certified by the International Mediation Institute and mediate.com, he also mediates for AMP Mediation, the Orange County Superior Court and the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Central District of California. In addition, he independently conducts private arbitrations and mediations.
Graduating with honors from Stanford University and Columbia Law School, Bob has also received extensive ADR training through Pepperdine Law School’s Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution, the Harvard Program on Negotiation and other CLE providers.
